Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank Ortis announced the deal during a city chamber meeting on Monday night.

Ortis said the store will be in the Pembroke Crossing shopping center at the corner of Pines Boulevard and Flamingo Road.

In October, dozens of people lined up bright and early when the Pinecrest location opened at 9205 South Dixie Highway.

Trader Joe's is known for its inexpensive products and its Hawaiian-inspired decor. The company prides itself in their private label products, which include everything from cookies to wine.

Although the California-based grocery chain does not market themselves as a health food store, their products do not have artificial flavoring, coloring or preservatives.

Since its launch in 1958, the chain has grown to more than 400 stores in 35 states.
