MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Traffic is a big concern for those headed to Art Basel Miami Beach this week.
A Florida Department of Transportation project to improve storm water drainage has closed southbound Alton Road between 17th and 5th Streets. The city has released recommended routes for drivers headed to the Miami Beach Convention Center.

"My gallery's in Wynwood and I'm exhibiting at the convention center and in both cases it's a real concern for me," said gallery owner Fred Snitzer.
Beginning Wednesday, a shuttle will transport Art Basel goers between several Miami neighborhoods and Miami Beach.

"We have partnered with the city of Miami to have a free trolley that will be coming from the Midtown area to here to Miami Beach every hour on the hour," said city spokeswoman Nanette Rodriguez.
