The trial comes two decades after his ex-wife, Lynne Friend, vanished during a custody dispute involving the couple's then-5-year-old son. Her body was never found.

Lynne Friend's former divorce attorney also testified Monday.

U.S. Customs officials claim they saw Cliff Friend and Alan Gold dump something overboard on the night of Lynne Friend's disappearance.

Cliff Friend was arrested in March 2012. He faces life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder.
