Tri-Rail gates stuck in down position in Deerfield Beach

Spokeswoman says incident is weather-related

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – Tri-Rail maintenance workers are responding to two crossings after the train gates got stuck in the down position.

A Tri-Rail spokeswoman said the incidents were weather-related and two crossings were affected, Hillsboro Beach Boulevard in Deerfield Beach and Southwest 18th Street in Boca Raton.

Traffic was blocked in both east and westbound directions of Hillsboro Boulevard as workers repaired the gates.

The gates were repaired by about 7:30 p.m.

Spokeswoman Bonnie Arnold said nine crossings between West Palm Beach and Miami were impacted by the weather.
