2 men burglarize Dania Beach boatyard

BSO: Men stole lower portions of 6 boat motors

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Detectives are looking for two men who were caught on surveillance video burglarizing a Dania Beach boatyard.

The incident happened Friday night at Dusky Marine located at 110 N. Bryan Rd.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said the men cut the fence to the boatyard and removed the lower portions of six boat motors, each valued between $2,500 and $5,000.

The men were then seen leaving the property in a red Chrysler PT Cruiser.

The owner of the boatyard says this is not the first time there has been a break-in.

"There's about four or five different marinas in the area and we have all been hit twice, at least once or twice, and recently," said Michael Brown, owner of Dusky Marine. "Each one of them has had several thousand dollars of gear cases stolen, and at least four to five boats have been vandalized."

Another boatyard owner nearby says she's been targeted at least once a year in the almost 30 years since she's been in business.

Anyone with any information about the crime is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
