Two people rescued from fire inside Fort Lauderdale apartment building

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Two people were rescued late Tuesday night after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Fort Lauderdale.

Two people were taken to Broward Hospital Medical Center.

A total of 73 people were evacuated from the building until the fire was fully contained and it was deemed safe to reenter. Seven people in nearby apartments have been displaced, but they were relocated to other apartments in the same building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
