MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An undercover Miami-Dade police officer fired his gun while taking part in a drug buy Wednesday night behind a check-cashing store, police said.
The incident happened on the corner of Northwest 95th Street and Northwest 27th Avenue.

During the course of the drug buy, the suspected seller, Herbert Jones, 48, reached for a gun inside his pants, and the undercover officer fired his weapon, Detective Marjorie Eloi said.
Jones was not shot. He was arrested on charges of cocaine trafficking, possession with intent to sell and resisting an officer without violence.
The officer who fired his gun is a 15-year veteran with the Miami-Dade Police Department. His identity was not released.
