US Marshals arrest July 4th shooting suspect

Agents find Antoinne Hester hiding underneath bed

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities have arrested a man accused of shooting a driver on July 4th.

U.S. Marshals agents said they located Antoinne Hester, 22, hiding underneath a bed at his grandmother's home in Riviera Beach. He was taken into custody and will soon be transferred to the BSO Main Jail, deputies said.

At around 5:40 a.m. on July 4th, four people were inside a green Kia Soul when, somewhere between Sunrise Boulevard and Sample Road, Bevins Bennett, 20, was shot, investigators said.

According to deputies, the driver of the vehicle drove him to the emergency room at Broward Health North, where Hester got out of the car and fled on foot.

Bennett was in critical condition. He died on July 7th.

Hester has been wanted by authorities since the shooting. Investigators said Hester's motive remains unclear.

Hester faces one count of first degree murder.
