A day after hundreds rallied in support of the student-led protests in Venezuela, there is talk of a U.S. response to the violence in Caracas.
Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen says lawmakers are talking about the possibility of sanctions against the Venezuelan government.
"It's time we get the U.S. off Venezuelan oil," Ros-Lehtinen said.
On Sunday, President Nicolas Maduro expelled three U.S. Embassy officials. The government claims the group worked with students to organize the bloody demonstrations.
"We're pretty much alone right now. We're asking countries to help us out," said Mario Digiobanni.
Digiobanni took part in a massive rally outside Bayfront Park on Sunday.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Saturday that the arrest of the opposition leader in Venezuela would have a "chilling effect" on Venezuelans' right to express themselves freely.
A new round of protests is scheduled for Tuesday.
