USPS inspectors pass out fliers after mail carrier robbery

Woman robbed of master key in North Miami neighborhood Tuesday

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Officers from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service passed out fliers in a North Miami neighborhood Wednesday morning, hoping someone had information regarding a mail carrier robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators said they are relying on witnesses who called 911 after they saw a pair of armed robbers jump over a fence after holding up a mail carrier, but they said they still need more information to catch the men.

Investigators said the woman was making her daily deliveries at the Alhambra Cove apartments  off 119th Street and 15th Avenue when two men ran up to her with a gun and demanded her master key. She handed the key over and was not injured.

Police said the men took off in an older model, red/burgundy four-door sedan.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 1-877-876-2455. A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
