LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old man found dead in a Lauderdale Lakes house fire as a homicide.
Police say the victim, Richard Reid, lived in the home that they were called to at Northwest 41st Street and Northwest 50th Terrace just after 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses said smoke was coming out of the home when crews made their way inside.
Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters found Reid's body.
Homicide detectives have not yet said how Reid was killed.
Fire investigators and deputies with the Broward Sheriff's Office are working to try and determine what caused the fire.
