Help us find the greatest moment in Miami Heat history

So many moments. So many memories. The Miami Heat has provided one thrill after another. From the days of Sherman Douglas through the title years of the "Big 3," there has been no shortage of hoops hysteria in South Florida thanks to the Heat. But there can only be one "greatest moment" and that's why Local 10 is asking you to vote in the Greatest Heat Moments Bracket... to choose the moment. We're talking about the greatest moment or event in team history. We're starting with the top half of the Sweet 16 and giving you a few days to send in your votes. Go ahead... it's tip-off... what are you waiting for? Let's go vote and let's go Heat!

#1 - RAY ALLEN'S 3-POINT MIRACLE vs. #16 - ALONZO MOURNING'S 50-POINT EXPLOSION - Before the start of the 2012-13 season the Heat brought in sharpshooter Ray Allen to provide extra firepower from the outside. Even if Ray failed to hit a single 3-pointer during the season, the one he hit with the seconds running down on the Heat season that sent Game 6 of the NBA Finals into overtime was worth his salary and then some. Allen's "miracle" allowed the Heat to follow up with a Game 7 victory over the Spurs and back-to-back titles. Meanwhile, Alonzo Mourning has provided many great moments during his Hall of Fame career, but dropping 50 points vs. the then-Washington Bullets on March 22, 1996 showcased his true greatness. Zo went for 21 in the first quarter alone and put up the most single-game points of his All-Star career.

#8 - HEAT WIN 2012 NBA TITLE vs. #9 - DWYANE WADE DRAFTED 5th OVERALL IN 2003 NBA DRAFT - The "Big 3" finally broke through in a big, big way. Despite dropping the first game of the NBA Finals to Oklahoma City, the Heat bounced back and swept through the next four games to defeat the Thunder 4-games-to-1 and hand LeBron James his first-ever NBA Championship. Of course, the Heat may not have reached that pinnacle if they hadn't had the foresight to draft a redshirt sophomore out of Marquette with the 5th pick of the 2003 NBA Draft. Needless to say, Dwyane Wade's career has been a cornerstone of the franchise's success since his arrival.

#4 - HEAT COMEBACK TO WIN GAME 3 OF '06 NBA FINALS vs. #13 - LEBRON JAMES' 61-POINT NIGHT - Trailing by 13 points, the Heat were six minutes away from going down to the Mavs 3-games-to-none in the 2006 NBA Finals. But that's when Dwyane Wade came into his own. Wade scored 42 points and had 13 rebounds, while Gary Payton dropped a jumper with 9.3 seconds left to save the Heat and start a run that saw Miami win the next 3 games to win their first NBA Championship. On March 3, 2014, LeBron James was unstoppable. Well, more unstoppable than usual. LeBron scored a career-high 61 points on 22-of-33 shooting in Miami's win over the Bobcats, breaking the Heat franchise record of 56 points previously set by Glen Rice.

#5 - HEAT WIN 2006 NBA TITLE vs. #12 - HEAT 27-GAME WINNING STREAK - They were down, but not out. The Heat fell behind the Mavericks 2-games-to-none before ripping off 4 straight games to become just the third team in NBA history to trail 0-2 in the Finals and go on to win the championship. It was the Heat's first-ever NBA title. Dwyane Wade was named the Finals MVP after averaging 34.7 points per game. Seven years later, the Heat went on a run that has only been bested once. Miami won 27 games in a row, just 6 wins shy of the all-time NBA record of 33 straight wins set by the 1971-72 Lakers. The streak started on Feb. 3 vs. the Raptors and came to an end vs. the Bulls over two months later.
