MIAMI – Huntington Beach Police Department Officer Zach Pricer stopped for a game of hopscotch with a homeless 11-year-old girl.

Pricer's partner shot a video that showed the officer in uniform playing with the pink-clad girl. The video was shared on the department's Facebook. Pricer said he was blown away with the girl's "happy-go-lucky attitude."

Pricer said the game was important, because it helped him to connect with her to make sure that she was not in danger, as the officers found her living in a car with her mom. The police department's Housing Task Force in Huntington Beach, Ca., was making housing arrangements, Pricer said.

"It was amazing to see how thankful she was for what she did have," Pricer said.

This morning an officer checked on a suspicious occupied vehicle in the area of Graham and Edinger. During his investigation he learned the people in the vehicle were a mother and her 11 year old daughter and they had been living out of their car. The officer contacted our Homeless Task Force to help arrange housing. As the officer worked on housing arrangements with the mother, another officer on scene, Officer Pricer, began displaying his expertise in hopscotch to the daughter. #Copslovehopscotch
