Wife says man who attacked woman in Dania Beach is bipolar

David Farrior, 39, held in jail on $50,000 bond

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – The wife of a man accused of dragging a woman across a Dania Beach parking lot during an attempted robbery earlier this month said her husband is bipolar and was probably suffering an episode at the time of the attack.

David Farrior, 39, appeared in court Thursday when a judge ordered that he remain in jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

"I'm sorry for her family, I really am," said Farrior's wife . "I'm sorry she was hurt. I'm sorry she went through this episode, but I want my husband home. My husband does not do this. This is not who he is. This is not how I know him. I know in the past he may have done some stupid stuff, but since we've been together and since I've known him, he does not do these things."

According to Broward Sheriff's Office, deputies, Rebecca Fisher, 24, was leaving Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlour & Restaurant with her parents about 11:15 p.m. March 8 when she was thrown to the ground.

Deputies said Farrior, 39, tried to steal Fisher's purse and dragged her across the parking lot in the process.

Fisher's parents yelled for help while trying to get the man off their daughter, and surveillance video from the restaurant showed employees and witnesses running over to help.

Witnesses were able to recover Fisher's belongings while an employee pinned down Farrior. Deputies said Farrior eventually broke free and said, "My home boys will take care of you," before he ran off.
