POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for a man who mugged a 45-year-old woman at a Pompano Beach apartment complex on Sept. 8.
According to deputies, Patricia Forero was waiting to be buzzed into an apartment building at 1505 N. Riverside Dr., when a man ran up behind her and grabbed her purse.
Forero briefly struggled with the thief before he was able to get away. But deputies said Forero wouldn't give up just yet and chased the man, who left in a dark-colored car -- possibly a Honda or Toyota.
Forero told deputies she then got into her own car and tried to chase the thief, but she was unable to catch up to him.
Detectives said they are looking for a black man in his early 20s, with a thin build and who weighs about 150 pounds.
