MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – One woman is dead and another is in critical condition after being pulled from the Atlantic Ocean in Miami Beach.
Miami Beach police said the two women were pulled from the water in the area of West 54th Street and Collins Avenue.
Both were taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center, where Domonique Cook, 24, was pronounced dead. The other woman, identified as Brandi Mitchell, 27, was listed in critical condition.
According to the police report, lifeguards found the women floating facedown in the water. Lifeguards pulled the victims from the water and began CPR.
Police said the women were visiting from New York.
