Woman fatally stabbed in Parkland home

PARKLAND, Fla. – A woman is dead after being stabbed in her Parkland home Sunday.

Officials were called to 12471 Northwest Manor after reports of a possible stabbing at approximately 11:13 p.m.

When deputies arrived at the home they found the body of 53-year-old Dacota Stewart-Dick on the floor with apparent stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the incident began as a domestic disturbance between Stewart-Dick and 38-year-old Alrick Oral Brown.

The family has no prior history of law enforcement calls to the residence.

Coral Springs Fire Rescue transported Brown to Broward Health North for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No other details were immediately released.
