Woman found dead in Plantation parking lot strangled, medical examiner determines

Lisette Rodriguez had been arguing with husband at nightclub evening before, police say

PLANTATION, Fla. – A woman who was found dead in a parking lot in Plantation was strangled, police said Tuesday.

The body of Lisette Rodriguez, 47, of Davie, was found Sunday morning in a parking lot on North University Drive.

Plantation police Detective Philip Toman said the Broward County medical examiner's office determined that Rodriguez died of asphyxiation by strangulation.

Toman said Rodriguez and her husband, Daniel Rodriguez Pineda, 28, of Margate, were at Conga's Nightclub & Restaurant the evening before her body was found. Toman said the couple had been arguing, and a friend last saw Rodriguez at the club with Pineda about 2 a.m.

Police say they want to talk to talk to Rodriguez Pineada, but believe he is in Colombia. He is not considered a suspect at this time.
