STOCK ISLAND, Fla. – A 38-year-old woman was found dead in the yard of a Stock Island home early Sunday.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, was staying with a friend at the home on Fifth Avenue and was found unresponsive in the side yard at about 7:45 a.m., Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

Deputies and paramedics were called after the friend called 911 for help, Herrin said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said she may have been dead for several hours before her body was found.
There were no obvious signs of foul play, deputies said, and an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of her death.
