Woman, friend attacked by men on bicycles in Hollywood

Surveillance video captures May 8 attack

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. ā€“ A woman said she and her friend were attacked by two men on bicycles while she was walking her dog in Hollywood.

The May 8 incident near Van Buren Street and South 19th Avenue was caught on camera.

"One bike comes up on my left and he grabs my purse," the victim, who asked not to be identified, told Local 10.

She said the man was punching and kicking her, while the other man knocked her friend unconscious.

"I just put my hands up to try and protect myself," she said.

A passing car seemed to scare off the attackers. They left with nothing, but they left the victims bloodied and bruised.

The victims didn't get a good look at their attackers.

"I was dragged and punched and kicked so many times, I had no time to look up," the woman said.

She is hoping the surveillance video will help lead to their arrests.

"I hope we catch them, and I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else," she said.
