MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A woman pleaded for help finding her 14-month-old teacup poodle that was stolen more than a week ago.
"She's beautiful, she is amazing, she's the most therapeutic thing in my life," said Elizabeth Ayafor, who described her dog -- named "Phenix" -- as a mother would describe her child.
"I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't think straight. Nothing in my world is right," she said. "Nothing is right, [and] I just want my baby home. Please, just give me my baby back."
A friend of Ayafor was dog-sitting when he was robbed. Surveillance video captured a woman cradling the dog as she left an apartment on the morning of November 17.
"There's more than two to three cameras that picked her up. We have visuals of her face, her body type and everything," said Ayafor.
"We're going back to all the video that they have around 14th Street and Washington Avenue to see if we can find the person or even have a picture of her license plate, her getting into her car," added Thomas Sanon-Jules, a private investigator Ayafor hired.
"It's kidnapping. It's heartless. I can't think of any reason why someone would do something so cruel and inhumane," said Ayafor. "She's my world. She's everything to me."
