CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Police in Coral Springs are looking for a woman who was caught on surveillance cameras stealing packages from outside people's homes.
The thefts happened Tuesday just before 5 p.m. in a neighborhood off Northwest 104th Avenue.
"I was amazed, especially because there were cameras aimed right at her, and it didn't seem like she had a care in the world," one homeowner said.
The man, who did not want to be identified, said his cameras caught the woman stealing a package right off his front doorstep.
She gets in her car and drives away, only to return a short time later, snatching another package from his neighbor's house right across the street.
"Next thing I know, I see her going to my neighbor's house and doing the same exact thing and taking their 1-year-old baby's birthday presents," the victim said.
The victim said the presents for the child were sent by relatives.
Cameras caught the woman, and possibly a second car, casing out the neighborhood first. Her tag was covered by a piece of paper, but she made no attempt at hiding her face.
"I just don't think it's right," the victim said. "My big thing is a child, and for a child to have their birthday presents stolen -- that breaks my heart."
Anyone with information about the identity of the woman is asked to call police.
