Woman struck by car, then struck by hit-and-run vehicle in Plantation

Victim taken to hospital in critical condition

PLANTATION, Fla. – A woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning in Plantation when she was struck by two vehicles, one of which didn't stop, police said.

The woman was crossing near the 700 block of North Pine Island Road about 6:10 a.m. when she was clipped by a car.

Plantation police said the driver stopped to help the woman, who was lying on the road, when another vehicle traveling south struck her, causing serious injuries.

Police said the driver of that vehicle didn't stop.

The victim was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said the second vehicle is believed to be a tan or beige Ford SUV that was last seen traveling south on Pine Island Road. Police said the vehicle may have left front-end damage.
