Fort Lauderdale firefighters free woman from wreckage

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A woman was trapped in her car after a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale firefighters were called to a crash involving a tractor-trailer, a taxi and several other vehicles. Among the vehicles was a black Honda Civic with a woman trapped inside, Deputy Fire Chief Timothy Heiser said.

Firefighters had to cut through the car to free her.

She was taken to Broward Health Medical Center. Her condition was not available.

Heiser said two other people were treated at the scene but refused transport to the hospital.
