Woman walks into police station with grenade

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A woman walked into a Broward Sheriff's Office substation with a hand grenade Friday afternoon.

The substation is located at 3201 W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

The woman walked into the lobby about 3 p.m., BSO says. She told deputies the grenade belonged to her dead husband.

Ten employees were forced to evacuate the substation as BSO investigated.

BSO was unsure if the device was live.

The Broward Sheriff's Office planned on detonating the device away from the substation after removing it.
