Wynwood Brewing Company opens

Family-owned company is first production micro-brewery in Miami

MIAMI – Wynwood Brewing company, the first production micro-brewery in Miami, opened Friday.

Media and local government officials attended the ceremony at 565 NW 24th Street in Miami's Wynwood arts district.

"Based on the beer we are going to brew, we have different types of grains," explained Luis
"Pops" Brigloni, one of the owners.

The family-owned company serves eight beers, including La Rubia, a blonde ale; the Wynwood IPA; Pop's Porter; and, seasonal offerings.

The company has brewed over 3,200 gallons of beer in one month. They have already bought four more vats and say they are going to expand.

The brewery offers a beer tasting and uses customer feedback for research and development.

"People can come and try our beer and tell us this beer is good. I like this most. This is my favorite," said Brigiloni.

Due to the government shutdown, federal inspectors of craft breweries have been furloughed, but Brigloni said it's not a problem for them.

"To send a monthly report about all of our production and based on that we have to pay some taxes but so far we have not been affected directly," explained Brigloni.
