HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -

A Yorkshire terrier has been reunited with its owner after it was stolen during an armed robbery on Wednesday.

Hollywood police said the victim was walking the dog around 1:30 a.m. when he was approached by a man on Washington Street near South Dixie Highway.

The thief told the victim to empty his pockets, and took of with the victim's Samsung cellphone and the dog.

The Yorkie was found Friday morning along the South Dixie Highway corridor. It was taken to the Hollywood Animal Hospital, where it was found to be in stable condition.

Police are still searching for the thief who is described as a black man, approximately 6 feet tall, who has cropped hair and a stocky build.
