George Zimmerman rescues truck passenger

SANFORD, Fla. – Since being declared not guilty over a week ago in the death of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman has remained in hiding.

But Zimmerman appeared in public last week to help rescue a passenger trapped in a overturned truck.

Capt. Jim McAuliffe of the Sanford Police Department told ABC News that Zimmerman "pulled an individual from a truck that had rolled over" following an accident on July 17 at an intersection of I-4 and State Route 46.

The police report says that a blue Ford Explorer SUV drove off the road and rolled over with two adults and two children inside.

When police arrived at the scene, Zimmerman and another man had already assisted in getting the family out of the vehicle.

Zimmerman left the scene after speaking with a Seminole County Sheriff's Office deputy.
