Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman Erika Benitez said the dog had gotten its jaw lodged between two pieces of metal and was unable to close its mouth.

Firefighters said they were able to safely remove the dog's head from the undercarriage and he is doing just fine.

"Always ready, proud to serve," Miami-Dade Fire Rescue tweeted shortly after the incident.

Benitez said the mouse also escaped the undercarriage just fine.
