Adam Greenberg strikes out in one at-bat
Marlins give opportunity to player hit by pitch in 2005
Adam Greenberg struck out swinging during his one at-bat.
Greenberg, 31, signed with team on Tuesday.
While playing for the Chicago Cubs in 2005, Greenberg was hit by a pitch at Pro Player Stadium in his first opportunity for an at-bat.
Getting hit by a pitch does not count as an at-bat.
Before the game, Greenberg said he hopes to change that when he steps to the plate for the Marlins.
"That's me, and seeing my name and my number, it's a dream come true. So, right now, this is the start of, hopefully, of my career in this game that I wanted as a kid and I feel like I'm going to show -- not in one at-bat -- this is the start of, hopefully, part two of my career and that's what I'm most grateful for," said Greenberg.
