The Miami Hurricanes increased the intensity of practice by putting on pads.

Coach Al Golden hoped to learn more about his young players by seeing how they responded to hitting.

Golden said, "We'll see whether the young guys bite or not.  It's one thing to bark, we'll see if the young guys go ahead and bite today."

Canes practice continues Monday with the team's fourth practice on Monday at 8:20 a.m.

The season kicks off Sept. 1 at Boston College.
