Canucks’ David Booth to have MRI Monday; could be ‘out for a while’
Canucks’ winger David Booth left Saturday’s game at the end of the first period with an ankle injury and did not return. Booth hobbled off the ice after getting tangled up with Red Wings defenceman Brendan Smith in the Detroit zone late in the first period. He could not put pressure on his left leg, and he struggled down the tunnel to the dressing room at the end of the period. Head coach Alain Vigneault said after the loss that Booth will go for an MRI on Monday, but expects him to “be out for a while.” Booth, 28, has had his 2013 season hampered by injury. He missed the first month of the season due to a groin injury he suffered on the first day of training camp.
