Miami Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi was arrested Friday morning on an outstanding warrant out of California.
Misi, the team's second round draft pick in 2010, was arrested by the Broward Sheriff's Office on battery with serious injury charges relating to a bar fight in Santa Barbara, Calif., last year.
Misi's attorney said he will waive extradition to California and will plead not guilty to the charges.
The 25-year-old out of the University of Utah was arrested at his home in Weston and surrendered without incident.
In two seasons with the Dolphins, Misi has underperformed with only 5.5 sacks and 75 tackles.
The team addressed the situation through spokesman Harvey Greene, "We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering information. As a result, we will refrain from any comment."
Misi currently remains in Broward County Jail on $10,000 bond.
