Dolphins RB Thomas goes on IR with knee injury

Miami Dolphins backup running back Daniel Thomas has been placed on injured reserve because of a knee injury.

The team signed defensive back Julian Posey from the practice squad Wednesday to take Thomas' roster spot.

Thomas was hurt in Sunday's win over Jacksonville. He ranks second on the team with 325 yards rushing, averaging 3.6 yards per carry and scoring four touchdowns.
