Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher says he's happy at Florida State, hopes to stay there
Jimbo Fisher says he's happy at Florida State and wouldn't consider anything else —at least until the season is over.
Fisher, who earns $2.7 million annually at Florida State, said Monday he has no plans to entertain potential offers from other schools and wouldn't talk with any suitor that didn't come through the proper channels.
Fisher's tenure as an assistant coach in the Southeastern Conference, where he spent 13 seasons between Auburn and LSU, has contributed to speculation that his name could pop up in discussion for SEC vacancies, and there could be several.
Fisher is 27-9 at Florida State since replacing Bobby Bowden in 2010, and the Seminoles (8-1, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) are ranked eighth nationally in quest of their first league title since 2005.
