MIAMI – After scoring a season high 40 points in a double overtime win over the Sacramento Kings Tuesday night, LeBron James made headlines for, of all things, his pregame routine.

The reigning MVP has been putting on a dunking clinic before the games. He's showing the full repertoire: off the glass, between the legs, you name it. Now, James is being criticized for throwing down these highlight-worthy jams while refusing to take part in the dunk contest.
"Maybe I should stop because it's making a lot of people mad about what I do," James said Tuesday. "They're like, 'Well, if you can do it in warm-ups, why don't you [want to] be in the dunk contest?' Stop it."
Videos of the pregame slams have been posted online by fans all over the country and are extremely popular. Sometimes the entire team gets into the mix.
Like it or not, Heat fans have a reputation for showing up to games fashionably late and team owner Micky Arison has tweeted about the dunks as a way to get fans in the seats on time or maybe even early.
Along with his 40 points, LeBron added 16 assists. Dwyane Wade scored 39 points as the Heat extended their winning streak to 12 games.
