MIAMI – The NCAA is throwing out 20% of the case against the University of Miami.
During a conference call, NCAA President Mark Emmert and attorney Kenneth Wainstein discussed the UM case.

Wainstein's firm spent the last 27 days conducting 22 interviews surrounding evidence obtained in the University of Miami case.
Former booster Nevin Shapiro is accused of giving improper gifts and benefits to UM student-athletes.
Emmert and Wainstein confirmed that all evidence obtained against NCAA standards has been thrown out.
The NCAA does plan to go forward with its case against the school.
President Emmert said of the mistakes, "This is an outcome that nobody wants to see... This is an embarrassment."
The school's football program has already sat out two years worth of bowl games ahead of possible sanctions.
The new Vice President on enforcement, John Duncan, will be working with counsel and taking a leadership role.
There is no timetable for when the process will go forward.
President Emmert said, "Everyone is trying to get this done as quickly as possible."
