Rudy Gay will play against his former team for the first time when the Toronto Raptors host the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. Gay, who was the Grizzlies' leading scorer when the trade occurred Jan. 30, continued his solid play for the Raptors with 24 points and eight rebounds in a 96-88 win at Washington on Tuesday. It was Toronto's season high-tying fifth straight win and sixth in eight games since the deal.Although the Grizzlies were criticized by some folks for shipping Gay, the trade has begun to pay dividends for them as well. They shot a season-high 56.3 percent in a 105-91 victory at Detroit on Tuesday in a game that was not nearly as close as the final score indicates. Memphis led by 27 points in the third quarter en route to its fourth straight win. Mike Conley led five players in double figures with 19 points. Memphis allowed 30 points in the first quarter but a total of 30 in the second and third combined. "We were in complete control," head coach Lionel Hollins told reporters after the game.
