The Washington Redskins retained fullback Darrel Young when the two sides agreed to a deal, the Washington Post reported Saturday.

The contract is reportedly for three years and $6.2 million, including a $1 million signing bonus.

Young had 14 carries for 60 yards and eight catches for 109 yards with two touchdowns. He also plays on special teams.

Even though the Redskins could have re-signed Young to a one-year restricted free agent tender for $1.3 million, the longer-term contract is more cap-friendly for the team this season.
