Danica Patrick is going to be receiving a guaranteed spot in next month's Daytona 500, according to CBS Sports.
Stewart Haas Racing is working on an alliance with Tommy Baldwin Racing that would guarantee Patrick a starting spot in the Daytona 500 and keep her No. 10 car on the track for much of the Sprint Cup schedule.
Patrick would receive the owner's points accumulated by Tommy Baldwin Racing driver Dave Blaney from last season that would allow her to participate in the first five races of 2012.
Since Patrick is only scheduled to compete in 10 races while participating full-time in the Nationwide Series, David Reutimann would drive the No. 10 car in as many of the remaining Cup races as possible.
Tommy Baldwin Racing will receive technical and pit crew support as part of the proposed deal.
