BOSTON -

The Boston Celtics will play the rest of the season without guard Rajon Rondo.

The guard has a torn right ACL that kept him out of Sunday's matchup with the Miami Heat.

The team said Rondo hurt himself late in a double-overtime game against Atlanta on Friday.

Rondo went to the hospital with an MRI and the torn knee was confirmed.
