The Heat lost one center but kept another Saturday. Rony Turiaf opted out of a contract that would've paid him $1.2 million next season. The team decided to retain Dexter Pittman.
Turiaf's agent said his client is open to return to the Heat, but he wants to be paid more than the league minimum. That's something the Heat are unlikely to do.
The moves leave Miami with 11 players under contract. Free agency begins at 12:01 a.m. Sunday.
