Will: Heat's dynamic duo saves the day
LeBron and Wade carry Miami to win
It was the one thing Miami had avoided all season long; key injuries. While teams all over the NBA have dealt with injury adversity, the Heat managed to get lucky. That is until Sunday.
When Chris Bosh went down in severe pain during the Heat's game one win over the Pacers, you could sense a collective panic in the crowd. Yet, the one place you didn't sense panic was on the Heat's bench.
Instead, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade took over the game and knocked Indiana around in the 2nd half.
We've heard of players picking up an injured teammate. Well, James and Wade picked up the entire team. The dynamic duo combined for 61 points, but even more impressive, 42 of those points came in the 2nd half when Bosh was out.
For now, Miami is saying Bosh has a lower abdominal sprain, but they won't really know how significant that is until the all-star forward has an MRI exam.
He could miss a game or two, or it could be a long term issue in the playoffs. Needless to say, the Heat is hoping for good news.
But, if he does miss any time, one thing's clear, Wade and LeBron are more than capable of picking up the slack.
The Pacers knew Miami would turn to the two star players to carry the load, and Indiana still couldn't stop them. That's the sign of a championship team. Miami looked every bit the part in the 2nd half.
