Will: LeBron deserves MVP award
James having historic season
Someone tell me how LeBron James is NOT the MVP of the NBA. Go ahead. Give it a shot. Yes, I'm sure the prevailing argument will be that he's not a "clutch" player or a "closer."
Did you happen to watch Miami's win over the Nets on Monday?
All James did was score his team's final 17 points in a wild stretch of just over five minutes to close out the victory. I know what you're thinking. Oh, it was a meaningless game against a bad team. Please. None of that matters.
Critics of LeBron will always find something to complain about, but you can't argue that he hasn't had the best season in the NBA.
James is averaging 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists per game. He has been collecting conference player of the week and month awards like it's candy.
Simply put, James has been the MVP of the league. He cemented that on Monday.
In the end, all that really matters to James is whether he'll be able to win his first NBA title. We'll find out soon enough, but for now, he better move over his other MVP trophies to fit in a new one.
