MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Mario Balotelli and M'baye Niang scored first-half goals, and AC Milan controlled long stretches of play on the way to beating the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 in the third-place match of the Guinness International Champions Cup tournament Wednesday night.
Balotelli scored in the 17th minute, Niang in the 40th. But the storied Italian club got a scare in the 79th minute when Balotelli played a ball across the field and went down, holding his lower right leg.
AC Milan won two of its three matches in the tournament, a series of exhibitions among eight club teams.
Landon Donovan was one of several Galaxy starters who played only the first half of the game.
