MIAMI -

Miami Marlins right-hander Henderson Alvarez threw a no-hitter on Sunday.

Alvarez struck out four, walked one, and hit a batter.

He had the help of two defensive gems.

Still, Alvarez didn't know he had a no-hitter until the bottom of the 9th.

The Marlins had the bases loaded with two outs.

Giancarlo Stanton scored on a wild pitch.

Interestingly, Alvarez was in the on-deck circle when the wild pitch happened.

Alvarez was emotional after the game kissing his pregnant wife.

The Marlins finish the season with a 62-100 record.
