CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes are planning to honor the 1983 championship team.
As part of the 30th anniversary celebration, the team will be honored at halftime of the Aug. 30 opener against Florida Atlantic.

Former coach Howard Schnellenberger said, "1983 was the linchpin that put into place that wonderful talent that was assembled and would continue to create the greatest college football dynasty since World War II."
The 1983 Hurricanes upset No. 1-ranked Nebraska in the Orange Bowl to win the title.
Among those expected to attend is Kenny Calhoun.
He knocked down Nebraska's two-point conversion attempt to seal the win for Miami.
