Canes win ACC Tournament

Miami beats North Carolina 87-77

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Miami Hurricanes beat North Carolina to win the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

Shane Larkin led the Canes to the win with 28 points and 7 assists in the Canes' 87-77 win.

It was the first ACC title in Miami's program history.

The Canes won the ACC regular season and conference tournament outright.

They are the first team to have that accomplishment besides Duke and North Carolina since 1974.

Sunday's championship game was played at a frenzied pace.

The Canes and Tar Heels combined for 25 three pointers.

Miami had a key contribution from Trey McKinney-Jones who knocked down 6 triples.

The Canes await their conference ranking before starting March madness.

Many national analysts have made a case for UM to be ranked as top seed.
