CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes picked up a big home win on Saturday.

Miami crushed the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels 77-62.

Freshman Bruce Brown led the way for Miami with 30 points.

The 'Canes only had 2 other double-digit scorers.

Ja'Quan Newton had 18 points. Davon Reed added 14.

Miami's defense was strong all game. Miami held North Carolina to just 35 percent shooting and just 29.2 percent from the 3-point line.

The 'Canes host another top 10 opponent on Wednesday when No. 6 Florida State comes to town.

The Seminoles lost 82-72 to Syracuse on Saturday.
