The New Year's Eve game will either pair No. 1 vs. No. 4 or No. 2 vs. No. 3 in the College Football Playoff.

Demand for the game is so great that the Orange Bowl is adding temporary seating in the four corners of newly renovated Sun Life Stadium to bring capacity to 66,524.

"The response for tickets has been outstanding, and because of the strong demand we had to be creative in providing additional seating," said Dawson Hughes, vice president of business development for the Orange Bowl. "We had an unprecedented display of loyalty from our annual patrons with a renewal rate of 93 percent this year. It shows the importance of attending the Capital One Orange Bowl year after year to ensure tickets for these important playoff games."

Under the new playoff system, now in its second season of existence, the Orange Bowl will host a semifinal game every three years.

Clemson (12-0) is currently the top-ranked team in the current CFP rankings and would meet fourth-ranked Iowa (12-0) if there is no change to the rankings. The Tigers will play North Carolina in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game, while the Hawkeyes will face Michigan State in the Big Ten Conference title game.
